Karthi has had three releases this year, with PS Mithran's Sardar being the latest one. The movie, which was released on October 21, clashed with Sivakarthikeyan's Prince at the box office, and was adjudged as the Deepavali winner by critics and the audience.

The spy thriller is currently Karthi's second highest grossing project and is on the way to become his biggest hit ever. Movie buffs are waiting to know if it will outsmart Kaithi to be the actor's numero uno film in the coming days. Sardar has Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan playing female leads in it.

Buoyed by the movie's success, producer Lakshman Kumar has now gifted a swanky car to director PS Mithran. Karthi handed over the key to the filmmaker, and the pictures have been doing the rounds on social media. Mithran had announced officially at the movie's success meet recently that Sardar 2 is definitely on cards.
