Sarkaru Vaari Paata saw Mahesh Babu back on the big screen after almost two years. Suffice to say, expectations for the film, especially among Mahesh Babu’s fans, were quite high. But it seems that the film failed to live up to the expectations of a lot of fans.
Twitter was rife with fans expressing their opinions about the film, right on opening day. Many fans seem to be divided on the film, especially on their opinion of the first and second halves. When it comes to the things people enjoyed about the film, many agreed that they found the romantic and comic bits of the film entertaining. One user said it was fun, funny and a mass entertainer, while another said the film was ‘terrific’. The latter user also added that they considered it to be one of the best films made in Tollywood.
Something most fans could agree on was Mahesh Babu’s performance in the film. Even the people who found the film average were in agreement that the Tollywood star put up an impressive performance. “He carried whole film with energy”, one user wrote. Another commented on the star’s impressive body language and dialogues.
However, there were more than a few netizens who were not impressed by the film at all. In the hashtag #DisasterSVP began to trend on Twitter, as many users mercilessly trolled the film. One user even referred to it as the ‘worst’ film.
In addition to Mahesh Babu, the film also features Keerthy Suresh and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. The film was directed by Parasuram and produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers.
Sarkaru Vaari Paata is now showing in theaters.
