However, with director Akhil Sathyan's film, Nivin was back in the space for feel-good entertainers and delivered a stellar performance, reminding viewers about the classic Nivin Pauly. Sarvam Maya grossed Rs 145.3 crore, as per trade tracker Sacnilk, joining the other highest-grossing Malayalam films of 2025. Actor Aju Varghese is also part of the movie, ably complementing and adding to the fun.

Riya Shibu’s charming performance

Young actress Riya Shibu made quite an impression as the friendly ghost, Delulu, in the Nivin Pauly film. Riya is literally the Little Miss Sunshine of the film, lighting up Sarvam Maya with her charming performance that looked effortless. From her witty banters to the Gen Z lingo, Riya Shibu is easily the biggest strength of the movie.

Simplistic yet lovable plot

Sarvam Maya revolves around struggling musician Prabhendu, who heads to his very conservative home after a financial crunch. He is forced to take up his family’s tradition of conducting rituals to earn money. However, one such instance turns spooky as a ghost, albeit friendly, tags along. How Prabhendu and the Delulu ghost bond, and help each other is depicted in the film in a simplistic tale, narrated with a lot of heart.

Akhil Sathyan’s feel-good world

Even when thrillers like Eko and Kalamkaval have been grabbing headlines in Malayalam cinema, director Akhil Sathyan opted for a feel-good entertainer for his second directorial debut. Though the film was introduced as a horror comedy, courtesy the presence of a ghost, there are hardly any jumpscare moments in the Nivin Pauly starrer. Nor are there any villains in the film, which promises a feel-good entertainer.

Justin Prabhakaran’s music

Justin Prabhakaran’s upbeat music further elevates Sarvam Maya. Puthu Mazha or the Delulu song, rendered by Shakthisree Gopalan, is already a fan favorite. The lovable track is also picturised beautifully, and has already made into scores of Instagram reels. Another song, Vellarathaaram sung by actor-singer-director Vineeth Sreenivasan, has also topped the charts.
