Popular Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is all set to make a powerful return to the Hindi film industry with the upcoming movie Sarzameen, which will drop on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium on July 25, 2025. The Hindi film also stars Bollywood actors Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan in other lead roles. During one of the promotional interviews, Prithviraj Sukumaran defended the young actor Ibrahim Ali Khan, who faced much flak for his debut movie Nadaaniyan. He cited the examples of Shah Rukh Khan, veteran Malayalam actors Mohanlal and Mammootty to state that nobody can avoid criticism.
Prithviraj Sukumaran stars in the Hindi movie Sarzameen along with Ibrahim Ali Khan, who marks his second screen appearance after the heavily panned movie Nadaaniyan. In an interview with India Today, Prithviraj defended the starlet, asking if “Shah Rukh Khan sir can still be criticised, why can’t Ibrahim Ali Khan be criticised?” These statements by the actor have already made headlines and gone viral on social media.

But not just the Bollywood star, Prithviraj also cited examples of Malayalam stars Mohanlal and Mammootty who have been ruling the industry for decades.
"I mean, where I come from, Mohanlal sir and Mammootty sir are still criticised. There is nothing bigger than that for us. To understand that it is never going to end. It' never gets easier," he remarked.
Prithviraj shared that he even told Ibrahim that criticisms will not stop even if he delivers a blockbuster, but one needs to keep trying and start enjoying the grind.
Prithviraj will feature in director SS Rajamouli’s film, tentatively titled SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu. He also stars in a Malayalam movie, titled Nobody, which also features Parvathy Thiruvothu. The shoot for another upcoming movie of the actor, Khalifa, was also announced recently. The actor was last seen in L2 Empuraan, which also marked his third directorial venture. Mohanlal played the lead role in the film, the sequel to the much popular Lucifer.
