Sathyaraj made his debut in the Bollywood industry with Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.

In the film, Sathyaraj portrays Deepika's father. In a recent interview with ETimes, the actor highlighted how he thought his role was not really ideal for him, but only took it up for his admiration for SRK.

“When the makers approached me for Chennai Express, I heard the story and I felt that it was not that great a role for me. I conveyed this to the director (Rohit Shetty) and also to Shah Rukh Khan, but I eventually did the film, because I like Shah Rukh very much. I like SRK's acting a lot. His films, like DDLJ and several others, did extremely well,” the actor told the outlet.

Sathyaraj's most recent notable on-screen role was as Katappa in the Bahubali franchise. The film established the actor as a mainstream celebrity, and the South star was thereafter recognised by almost everyone in Chennai Express.

Chennai Express was a huge box office success when it was released in 2013. Not only was the movie liked by the public, it was also appreciated by the critics.

Sathyaraj is now awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Veetla Vishesham. He will appear in the Tamil version of Badhaai Ho, directed by RJ Balaji, which is set to be released on June 17, 2022.

Jawan, SRK's latest movie teaser from filmmaker Atlee, was recently published and is making headlines on social media. In addition, Shah Rukh will appear in Pathaan opposite Deepika and John Abraham, which is set to be released on January 25, 2023. The actor will also be featured in Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki, which will be released on December 22, 2023, opposite Taapsee Pannu.
