Saturday Night marked Nivin Pauly’s second collaboration with director Rosshan Andrrews

Director Rosshan Andrrews’ madcap comedy Saturday Night is finally gearing up for its OTT release. The movie, which has Nivin Pauly, Siju Wilson, Aju Varghese and Saiju Kurup in the lead, had hit theatres in November.
The film revolves around a group of friends and is extensively set in Karnataka. Nivin essays the role of Stanley, who is the mainstay of his friends circle that also comprises characters essayed by the other three male leads. However, issues begin to crop up between them, leading to each of them going their separate ways. Aju’s character, referred to as Poocha in the film, then hatches a plot to bring all of them together years later, but they now find Stanley, who is stuck in the past. How the others go back in time and fulfil a trip that Stanley always wanted to form the plot of this comedy entertainer that also sheds light on friendships in the new age.
Written by ABCD scriptwriter Naveen Bhasker, the movie also has Saniya Iyyappan, Grace Antony and Pratap Pothen. There were earlier rumours that the film’s OTT rights were picked up by Sun NXT. However, Disney+ Hotstar announced that it had the rights for the film, which will begin streaming on the OTT platform from January 27. Disney+ Hotstar had also bought the rights for Nivin’s debut OTT release Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, which also had Grace as part of the cast.

Meanwhile, Nivin is currently shooting for Mikhael and The Great Father filmmaker Haneef Adeni’s movie in the UAE. The actor has reportedly shed 15 kilos for his role in the film, which also has Vinay Forrt, Saniya and Balu Varghese. The actor will next shoot a few portions of Jana Gana Mana director Dijo Jose Antony’s untitled film. The latter will also have a 10-day schedule in Dubai, before it starts its Kerala schedule in February end.
