Satyam Bhattacharya got hitched to his long-term girlfriend Saswati Sinha on January 22. The actor and his girlfriend, now wife, Saswati have been in a relationship for the past eight years. They worked together in their theatre group, Hypokrites and that’s where their love bloomed.
After tying the knot, Ballabhpurer Roopkotha-fame Satyam said, “I am happy and relieved. I thought it would be very stressful. But everything went well. While the feeling of being married is yet to sink in, I feel joyous from within.” Saswasi too seems very happy. “I was nervous. It is an elaborate occasion with a lot of relatives and friends to come over. I wanted everything to go well and it did. I am happy that everyone enjoyed it,” she said.
Away from the Tollywood spectacle, Satyam and Saswasti’s wedding was much more of a family and friends affair. They curated their trousseau, guest list, and menu with their family members. Earlier, Satyam mentioned that he wanted to invite his colleagues – with whom he directly worked in the industry. As per sources, Suhotro Mukhopadhyay, Debraj Bhattacharya, Pratik Dutta, Saoli Chattopadhyay, and others attended their wedding.
The menu was elaborate. There was masala kulcha, nabaratna korma, pomfret tandoori, bekti paturi, mutton biryani, and chicken tandoori. “The special touch was sarpuriya straight from Krishnanagar. My mesho (uncle) arranged it and that meant the world to me,” said Saswati.
While talking to OTTplay, the bride and groom teased each other with the menu. “Our menu for reception is grand as well. There will be biryani, koraishutir kochuri, fish fry, and most importantly, jilipi and makha sandesh,” declared Satyam. The reception will take place on January 25.
