The first single from Tha Se Gnanavel's Jai Bhim, Power Song, which was dropped on Monday, opened to positive reviews from music buffs and others alike. The movie, which stars Suriya in the lead, will have a premiere on Amazon Prime Video, on November 2.

Written and sung by Arivu, who became a sensation post the humongous success of Enjoy Enjaami, Power Song stood out for its inspiring and hard-hitting lyrics which urged people to stand for their rights and fight for a cause. The visuals in the song, too, were powerful and film lovers were all praise for the positivity and energy it instilled in them.

The song has references to politician and social reformer Ambedkar, too, which was enjoyed by cinephiles. It features a small portion from Ambedkar's speech in which he is seen coming down heavily on casteism and untouchability. The visuals have him saying, "We want untouchability to be abolished. We have been carrying on with untouchability for the last 2,000 years. Nobody has bothered about it."

Sean took to Twitter to express happiness of having his voice in the song he has composed. He tweeted, "Having his excellency Dr Ambedkar’s voice in #powersong is the best honour I have ever received in my life. He is not a man. But a vibration of the conscience of this nation."

He also informed fans that the next song from the movie will have voice lent by singer-composer Pradeep Kumar. In another tweet, Sean thanked fans for the response to the film's teaser. It is known that Jai Bhim's plot revolves around caste atrocities meted out to the downtrodden. Suriya plays a lawyer in it and voices against rampant casteism in the film which is set in the 90s.
