Seyon: Sivakarthikeyan announces October 2026 release as he dons a divine avatar in pulsating teaser

Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Seyon has been dropping back-to-back updates. After revealing the title and first look on February 16, the makers have now dropped the teaser, featuring a fiery Sivakarthikeyan in a divine avatar. The teaser also confirmed that the film, helmed by director Sivakumar Murugesan, is set for an October 2026 release.

When is Sivakarthikeyan’s Seyon releasing

Seyon is the upcoming film of Sivakarthikeyan, which marks his second collaboration with actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan after the successful outing of Amaran, which was also backed by the Thug Life actor. On Sivakarthikeyan’s birthday on February 17, the teaser from Seyon was dropped, which also announced the film will release in theatres worldwide in October 2026, though an exact release date was not given.

Considering the religious hues in the teaser and the release window, the makers could be eyeing the Pooja holidays, which fall in mid-October. However, there is no official confirmation on this. The film, which was earlier tentatively titled SK26, is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan.

What does Seyon teaser show

The Seyong teaser begins with shots of a temple festival and moves to a police station where a couple of youngsters have been rounded up. They reveal to the police officer that they have been harassed by someone at the festival for asking which God he was representing. Two of them are locked up as they discuss why someone would cause trouble for asking about God and does that mean the person is an atheiest?

We then see shots of the festival as Sivakarthikeyan makes an entry, dressed as Lord Murugan, which prompts even the police officer to fold his hands in prayer.

An elderly woman shouts ‘OG is back’ even as Santhosh Nayaranan’s background score peaks. The teaser ends with Sivakarthikeyan’s character declaring, ‘Here I am’.

Director Sivakumar Murugesan has also penned the script for the Sivakarthikeyan movie. Notably, Sivakumar is also the director of another upcoming Tamil moive Thaai Kizhavi, starring senior actress Radikaa Sarathkumar, which is backed by Sivakarthikeyan. Thaai Kizhavi was earlier scheduled to release on February 20 but has been postponed to February 27.

Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in the political film, Parasakthi, which is streaming on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium. Paraskathi got a solo release for Pongal after Vijay's Jana Nayagan had to back out due to censor issues.
