Lilette Dubey is known as a fine actor in both films and plays. She is perhaps more popular as a theatre actor. While she has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in films like Chalte Chalte, she also worked with him in a play way before SRK became the star that he is.
Lilette was a recent guest on anchor, theatre personality, and comedian Cyrus Broacha's podcast, in which she revealed that Shah Rukh was a part of the theatre company that she had set up in Delhi and remembered what he was like as a teenager, as an 18–19 year old.
Speaking about the time that she worked with SRK, Lilette told Cyrus that the production was similar to Sesame Street and also starred actor Raghubir Yadav.
Talking about a young Shah Rukh, she said that he was a delight to work with, talented, and full of energy, like he had had "50 Red Bulls".
Lilette particularly remembered the time when Shah Rukh told her that he didn't want to be an actor but a star. "'I am going to be a star; I am going to be a rock star', he had said to me, and he meant it. There was that kind of focus that he had that he was going to be that," she said.
