Pathaan 2 script finalized
Pathaan 2 was in the works since mid-2023, a source confirmed to PeepingMoon. Aditya Chopra was working on the script since then and now that the script is locked, there's a lot more clarity on Pathaan sequel.
Aditya Chopra could direct Pathaan 2
Shah Rukh Khan has also gone through the script of Pathaan 2 and has given his nod, owing to which now the makers are in search of a new director. The original film was helmed by Siddharth Anand but just like War and Tiger franchise, a new installment would mean a new director on-board. Currently, Aditya is looking for a fresh face to take the director's chair. He might end up directing this installment by himself, or bring Ayan Mukerji on board, given he has already worked on Hrithik Roshan's War 2. If not that, they would go ahead with a fresh face.
Pathaan 2 story
Pathaan 2 will carry forward Pathaan’s story. More than that, it would set the groundwork for larger conflicts in the YRF Spy Universe. So don’t be surprised if deceit becomes a constant theme with Pathaan 2 as well.
When will Pathaan 2 go on floors?
Pathaan 2 is expected to go on floors in the first half of 2026. Shah Rukh Khan would complete Siddharth Anand's King before moving on to Pathaan. The movie features SRK as a don and also stars his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in pivotal roles. SRK is likely to join Pathaan 2 after King's theatrical release in 2026.
Pathaan 2 announcement in the midst of John Abraham's prequel confirmation
Early in the day, John Abraham confirmed Pathaan prequel is also in the works. This is a story on the actor's character Jim. While SRK played the lead protagonist Pathaan, John played the lead antagonist Jim in the film. His story will also be explored, in what will be Pathaan prequel but not many details about the project are out yet. Stay tuned to know more!

Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif-Emraan Hashmi's Tiger 3 was the last release in the universe, and Hrithik's War 2 is scheduled for release next. Alia Bhatt-Sharvari's Alpha is the latest addition to the universe, and it is scheduled for Christmas release, clashing with Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par. Although promised, Salman Khan-Shah Rukh Khan's clash in Tiger vs Pathaan is currently on hold and might take a while, now that Pathaan universe is being explored first.
