Jawan is continuing to create an uproar at the global box office, and nothing can stop it. The film has crossed Rs. 660.03 crore worldwide, and that's definitely the highest for a Hindi film ever. The Shah Rukh Khan actioner is on a continual record-breaking spree following his previous blockbuster, Pathaan, which released earlier this year.
The record breaker!
After seven days of its release, the Atlee film's global total is a massive Rs. 593 crore, very close to the Rs. 600 crore threshold. Pathaan earned Rs. 625 crore internationally in a week, making this the second-highest weekly sum ever. Pathaan was $5 million higher in just seven days overseas.
While sharing the news, Shah Rukh Khan's production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, wrote on their social media pages, "A storm called Jawan has taken over the world!"
Check out the post below:
As per Box Office India, Gadar 2: The Katha Continues has grossed roughly Rs. 385 crore in its first week, which is about Rs. 200 crore less than Jawan but still an amazing figure considering Pathaan may have a greater first-week total. The best sum of Salman Khan's Sultan in 2016 (before the pandemic) was Rs. 395 crore.
Setting a new record!
Earning Rs. 660.03 crore across all platforms in its first week of release is a record for the Hindi film industry. This is because no other collection of industry films in regional languages exists.
In Jawan, one man's (Shah Rukh Khan's) quest to right social wrongs and fulfil an old promise drives him to extremes. He faces a ruthless criminal (Vijay Sethupathi), who has caused untold misery to countless people and has no fear of anyone.
Jawan also stars Nayanthara as a fierce cop and Deepika Padukone in an extended cameo appearance, along with Priya Mani, Sanya Malhotra, and others in supporting roles.
