Here's what's common between Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Raees

Shah Rukh Khan fans, catch a breath. After a long gap of about three years, SRK has announced Pathaan is here! The makers have just dropped the date announcement video for the film, sharing the release date of Pathaan. While we are excited about watching Pathaan's release date announcement, we couldn't help but notice several similarities between the teasers of Pathaan and SRK's last hit movie, Raees with Mahira Khan. 

For starters, the teasers of both the films were out, about a year before they were released in theatres. Pathaan's teaser, which dropped on March 2, 2022, announced the release date of the film as January 25, 2023, while Raees teaser was released in July 2015 and it announced the release of the film on Eid, the following year. The theatrical release of Raees was pushed further and finally, it released on January 25, 2017. It also featured Mahira Khan and Nawazzudin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.  

Now, we all know that Pathaan will also be releasing on January 25 in theatres next year. 

Coincidence much, the dialogues in the teasers are also on the same lines. In the teaser of Raees, Shah Rukh is heard telling how his mother taught him that no work is big or small. He says there is no religion, superior to work. "Abhi yahi mera kalma hai aur yahi mera mazhab," he says as he makes his appearance on the screen. Pathaan teaser too introduces him as someone who considers his country as his identity and religion. After a brief introduction to his character by Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, Shah Rukh Khan makes an entry on the screen, further saying, "To usne apne desh ko he apna dharam maan lia aur apni desh ki raksha karna, apna karam." 

However, unlike the date announcement video of Raees, Shah Rukh Khan's look in Pathaan is not clearly visible. Before the video fades out, declaring the possible release date of the movie, he ends his lines, saying, "Yeh naam kyun pada, kaise pada. Iske liye thoda sa intezaar kijiye. Jaldi milte hai Pathan se." On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan ends the video of Raees saying, "Aa raha hu main."

Apart from dialogues, the music for both the videos are also steady but intense.

The film Raees, which is now available to stream on Netflix, is a part of the 100 crore club of Bollywood. And with the intense release date announcement video of Pathaan and the excitement that it has created among the fans, it needs to be seen if Pathaan will repeat the success of Raees.  

Pathaan also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, apart from Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the spy thriller movie is produced by Aditya Chopra, Maxim Ajjawi and Alexander Dostai.
