Shaitaan box office collection day 2 - Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan's film witnesses a jump, mints Rs 18.75 crore

Shaitaan box office collection day 2 - Filmmaker Vikas Bahl's supernatural thriller, featuring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, hit the big screen on March 8. Shaitaan clashed with Randeep Hooda and Ileana D'Cruz's Tera Kya Hoga Lovely at the box office. However, the movie is enjoying its successful run at the ticket window. After it got an opening of Rs 15.21 crore, the film witnessed a jump on day 2 at the box office.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyothika's film Shaitaan earned approximately Rs 18.75 crore. Considering the same, the total box office collection of the Vikas Bahl-directed movie now stands at Rs 33.96 crore. Needless to say, the movie will score a half-century in the next two days of its theatrical run. If Shaitaan continues its winning streak at the BO, the film will soon enter the Rs 100 crore club.

While sharing the official day 1 box office figures of Shaitaan, the makers of the film mentioned that the movie set the BO on fire. "Shaitaan sets Box Office on Fire," the caption to Panorama Studios' Instagram post read.

Shaitaan fever grips cinemas!

Due to the overwhelming response to Shaitaan on day one, midnight shows of the film have been added in Mumbai. Interestingly, the response to the same has been terrific. Given the fact that more shows of Shaitaan have been added, the Ajay Devgn-starrer is likely to witness a better jump at the box office in the coming days.

Shaitaan storyline and star cast

Meanwhile, the storyline of Shaitaan revolves around R Madhavan's character turning Ajay Devgn and Jyothika's family life upside down with his presence. He hypnotizes their daughter to the extent that she slaps herself and hits her father. This forms the basic crux of the movie.

That being said, the star cast of Vikas Bahl's film also includes Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj. The movie has been backed by Devgn Films, JioStudios, and Panorama Studios.
