Following the success of various South Indian films like Pushpa 2, RRR and KGF: Chapter 2, many Bollywood stars are now eager to work in movies with a pan-Indian appeal. The actress recently said that would also like to join this league of pan-Indian movies that reach various sections of the country.

Vaani told Bombay Times: “I would love to be a part of a pan-Indian film. The bigger the audience, the better your chances of reaching out and connecting to a wider audience. Well, that is the ultimate goal and I shall manifest to find a project like that.”

The actress, who made her debut in the 2013 Yash Raj Films romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance, will next star in Shamshera with Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. The period drama Karan Malhotra directed movie has been described as a “high-octane, larger-than-life blockbuster set in India's heartland.”

Vaani had previously speaken about working with Ranbir, saying that “he pours his heart and soul into the character he portrays.” She added that his acting is “so real” one cannot tell that he is playing someone else on screen.

Among Vaani’s other movies are Befikre with Ranveer Singh, War with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, Bell Bottom with Akshay Kumar, and her most recent blockbuster Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui with Ayushmann Khurrana, in which she played a transgender woman. She has also acted in the Tamil movie Aaha Kalyanam, which was her Kollywood debut.

Meanwhile, Shamshera went on floors in 2018 but it finally has a release date. The movie is among Yash Raj’s new titles like Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Prithviraj and Pathaan.

Shamshera releases in cinemas on July 22.
