Dhanush's Thiruchitrambalam, which was released on August 18, continues to attract movie lovers despite three notable Tamil movies hitting the screens in a span of one week. The movie was the actor's first theatrical outing after four back-to-back OTT releases. The feel-good drama directed by Mithran R Jawahar opened to unanimous positive response among critics and the audience.

The sparkling chemistry between Dhanush and Nithya Menen, and performances from Bharathiraaja and Prakash Raja, along with impressive music by Anirudh Ravichander were considered as positive aspects of the film. The movie bankrolled by Sun Pictures is the first successful project of the production house after almost a three-year hiatus.

Many celebrities have taken to social media to shower praise on team Thiruchitrambalam. The latest to join the list is filmmaker Shankar. The maverick filmmaker seems to have been smitten by Nithya Menen's performance in the movie and he took to Twitter to heap praise on her acting and the movie crew.

He tweeted, "#Thiruchitrambalam.A Beautiful movie. The beauty is in lovely moments that follow the painful ones. @MenenNithya‘s character & superb performance seizes hearts, the writing by @MithranRJawahar as well.#DNA at their best as usual. Love to @offBharathiraja @prakashraaj & whole team (sic)."

Dhanush thanked Shankar for the compliment and said "this means a lot to me and my team". The actor has Naane Varuven with Selvaraghavan coming up next. The film is said to be releasing this month end. The bilingual flick Vaathi is another project of his which will be hitting the screens this year.

Shankar, on the other hand, is busy working simultaneously on Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and Ram Charan's RC 15 (tentative title). His last outing was Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0.
