We had told you recently that Arivazhagan's Arun Vijay-starrer action flick Borrder postponed its theatrical release from November 19. Though the makers are yet to come up with an official announcement on the same, it is more or less confirmed going by the developments in the industry.
Now what comes as a surprise to movie lovers is the postponement of another film which had planned a release on the same date. Murungakkai Chips, directed by Srijar, starring Shanthnu and Athulya Ravi in lead roles, is the latest movie which will skip release on the coming Friday.
Earlier, there were rumours on the movie opting for a direct-to-OTT release, but the makers went ahead and announced a theatrical release a month ago. The rom-com features Bhagyaraj, Urvashi, Mayilsamy, Manobala, Yogi Babu and Munishkanth among others essaying key roles in it.
The shooting of Murungakkai Chips was wrapped up in March this year and the crew members had taken to their respective Twitter handles to post pictures from the location. Ramesh Chakravarthy has cranked the camera for the film which has music composed by Dharan Kumar, editing by Jomin and dance choreography by Robert.
With Borrder and Murungakkai Chips backing off from this Friday's releases, three films are now expected to hit the screens. Santhanam's comic caper Sabhaapathy and CV Kumar's time-loop thriller Jango have confirmed their arrivals in theatres. Sashikanth's Kadaseela Biriyani is also likely to join the list.
Though the team had announced its release date as November 19 more than a week ago through Anirudh's social media handle, film lovers are eagerly waiting to see if they have other plans in the last minute.
