Shark Tank India is finally here with its much-anticipated Season 3. For the first time, Shark Tank India will have 12 Sharks at the judging table, instead of the usual six. The first episode premiered last night at 10pm. Those who missed it on TV, can still watch it on Sony LIV. Shark Tank 3 will release episodes daily from Monday to Friday every week.

Who are the 12 Sharks in Season 3 of Shark Tank?

Hosted by Rahul Dua, Shark Tank 3 features the original six Sharks, Amit Jain (CarDekho), Anupam Mittal (Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (boAt), Vineeta Singh (SUGAR Cosmetics), Namita Thapar (Emcure Pharmaceuticals), and Peyush Gupta (Lenskart.com), returning to the judgement table.

They will be joined by six new sharks, Deepinder Goyal (Zomato), Ritesh Agarwal (OYO), Radhika Gupta (Edelweiss Mutual Fund), Azhar Iqbal (Inshorts), Ronnie Screwala (UpGrad), and Varun Dua (Acko), for an electrifying and inspiring new season of Shark Tank.

What happened in the first episode of Shark Tank 3?

The first episode featured three dynamic start-ups that approached the Sharks for help and guidance, however, only the first two were successful in getting financial support . First pitcher was Mayank Pratap Sisodia, who represented his company, The Honest Home Company, a sustainable and plastic-free approach to home products.

Against his ask of Rs 1 crore for 2% equity, he accepted Amit Jain’s offer over the others, of Rs 1 crore for 3% equity along with 1% royal until Rs. 1.5 crore is recouped. Next comes Adil Qadri, the dynamic owner of his eponymous brand and the ‘gunda’ of the attar industry.

Despite flunking out of school due to asthma problems, which was also a hindrance in setting up his business, he set up a unique approach to his father’s business of selling attars. He decided to upgrade the attars to ensure longevity of scent, consistency, and premium packaging.

His brand has raked in a massive influx of 10 lakh orders, with an average of 3,000 a day. Against his ask of Rs 1 crore for 0.5% equity, Vineeta Singh offers him Rs 1 crore for 1% equity and 1% royalty till Rs 1 crore is recouped. The offer is generous because Anupam Mittal had backed out after hearing of Qadri’s 6 crore debt.
