Sharvari cast as female lead opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in Sooraj Barjatya's next film? Here's the latest update

Sooraj Barjatya's upcoming directorial, an untitled love story, has been in the news since December 2024. The first update was about actor Ayushmann Khurrana joining his film as the male lead. Back then, the maverick filmmaker was on a hunt to cast a female lead opposite Aysuhmann. According to the latest media report, Sharvari has come on board for Barjatya's timeless love story, set against the backdrop of families. 

Sharvari joins Sooraj Barjatya's next?

A lot of Bollywood actresses, namely Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Rao, and Karishma Kapoor, have had the good fortune to work with acclaimed director Sooraj Barjatya. And Sharvar is reportedly the latest addition to the list.

"The actress tick marked all boxes of what the director wanted, specifically the aspect of bringing vulnerability and innocence to this heartfelt romantic film. The industry has been bullish about Sharvari since last year and a legendary director like Sooraj Barjatya choosing her as the heroine of his film is the biggest stamp of approval that Sharvari is one of the best new actors of India," a source told Pinkvilla.

The senior filmmaker's upcoming film will mark Ayushmann and Sharvari's first on-screen collaboration. Both are reportedly excited to embark on this journey with the director. The report further suggests that four to five actresses were competing to be the female lead of this film. However, the filmmaker considered Sharvari for the role.

Since the lead star cast is finalized, the director is now likely to rope in a brilliant ensemble cast for his movie.

Sharvari's upcoming movies

On the work front, Sharvari has exciting projects lined up. The actress will be seen with Alia Bhatt in YRF's first female-led spy film, Alpha. She is also rumored to be a part of Imtiaz Ali's period love story, which stars Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, and Vedang Raina.
