The hit pair - Rajendra Prasad and Archana - that delighted audiences in Ladies Tailor nearly three and a half decades ago is returning with a family drama titled Shashtipoorthi. Rupesh Chowdary, Aakanksha Singh play other key roles in the film directed by Pavan Prabha. Rupesh is also bankrolling the film under MAA AAI Productions. The first look of the film was launched by director Anil Ravipudi.
The feel-good first look of Shashtipurthi, staying true to the title, has Rajendra Prasad and Archana celebrating the former’s 60th birthday with their family (including Rupesh and Aakanksha). Anil Ravipudi appreciated the team for the poster, wished them well ahead of release. Shashtipurthi’s filming is nearing completion, with makers revealing that they’ve wrapped 80% of the shoot.
Director Pavan Prabha, discussing the film, said, “Children don’t have an opportunity to watch their parents get married, but a ‘shashtipurthi’ gives them a chance to fill that void. Apart from a few talkie portions and an action sequence, the film is complete. Rajendra Prasad and Archana will be seen in multiple looks over the years in the story, including a retro episode.”
Shashtipoorthi was shot in over 80 locations in the vicinity of Rajahmundry, across scenic locations in the Godavari region. The film will have five songs on the whole, one of them was shot at Ramoji Film City. Ilaiyaraaja composes the music for the project and the makers are confident that the album will win over crowds. Actor, producer Rupesh revealed that a new schedule will begin soon.
Thota Tharani is the art director for the same. The cast also comprises Achyuth Kumar, Tenali Sakunthala, Ananda Chakrapani, Raj Tirandasu, Muralidhar Goud, Chalaki Chanti, Balagam fame Sanjay and Anil. Raam is the cinematographer and Karthika Srinivas is the editor. Ayesha Mariam is the costume designer. Chaitanya Prasad, Rahman are the lyricists.
