Rajamouli's multi-starrer action flick RRR, which grossed more than 1,000 crores at the box office, was lauded for its technical finesse and performance from lead actors. The film's performance at the box office wasn't a surprise considering the filmmaker's track record.
But what has stunned many is the fact that the movie has managed to impress many filmmakers and audiences in the West. The Jr NTR-Ram Charan-starrer, which was released five months ago, is still making noise for all the right reasons. A few notable Hollywood filmmakers and others from the biggest movie industry in the world have been going gaga over the mind-boggling sequences in the movie.
A few days ago, Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap opened up about the film's impact in the West and how people there are enjoying the movie. He also spoke about the possibility of the magnum opus in the Academy Awards.
Now, another distinguished Bollywood filmmaker, Shekhar Kapur, has heaped praises on the movie. He has quote retweeted a post from a leading entertainment portal in the West and said, "Seems the film #RRR has taken not just India, but the whole world by storm."
He congratulated Rajamouli and said that other filmmakers in India should follow his footsteps. His tweet further read, "Congratulations my friend @ssrajamouli.. hope other filmmakers from India follow in your footsteps. After all #India is the land of #Storytelling (sic)."
Earlier this month, Kapur had an interaction with Rajamouli and had posted a picture which had the duo posing for a photo at the latter's home. Meanwhile, there are speculations doing the rounds that Jr NTRis being considered for Oscars 2023 in the Best Actor category.
