The abundance of new fresh content has spoiled us with so many options nowadays that we hardly return to old content, despite some of the most precious films being there. There are bigwigs in the streaming world who have dominated the scene with everything they can offer. The content ranges from regional to mass to international IPs. But what happens to the small platforms that actually have some very good films? They mostly go unnoticed or are discovered once in a blue moon by a user who unknowingly pushes the content through a couple more algorithms. But that is not enough. Shemaroo has the most vibrant YouTube presence if one can successfully scratch the surface.

Over the years, Shemaroo has backed some of the biggest movies that we have seen, and they have been successful at it. The production company lately has a successful YouTube channel where they share scenes from their evergreen movies, songs, videos, and more. But are you aware that the production house has also started uploading some modern and old classics to their YouTube library? Well, and that too for free. This means people, even without a paid subscription, can watch those movies on YouTube.

So here is a list of the five best movies we found on Shemaroo’s YouTube channel in a couple of swipes. Read on and put them all on your watchlist. We will also add some more to these once you have watched them.

Best Movies On Shemaroo YouTube Channel

Jab We Met

Cast: Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor.

Director: Imtiaz Ali.

What more can be written about Imtiaz Ali’s modern classic film that gave cinema the iconic Geet? The movie is about people becoming each other’s last leaf; it is about finding love in the people you wouldn’t imagine, and it is about being out there conquering the world on your terms. The movie is streaming on Shemaroo’s YouTube channel for free.

Golmaal: Fun Unlimited

Cast: Ajay Devgn, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kemmu, Tusshar Kapoor, and Arshad Warsi.

Director: Rohit Shetty.

There can be as many Golmaals as possible, but nothing will even come close to the magic and charm that the first one had. Rohit Shetty, who was not creating a franchise then, was making a movie so unapologetic and random that Fun Unlimited feels like the most hilarious ride no matter how many times you watch it.

Zubeidaa

Cast: Karisma Kapoor, Rekha, and Manoj Bajpayee.

Director: Shyam Benegal.

Shyam Benegal’s Zubeidaa was the third part of his trilogy that also included Mammo and Sardari Begum in a way. The movie was about a woman who wanted to be free but was caged in a golden prison by her husband, who was also a king. The film is written by Khalid Mohammed and is one of the most immaculate movies of all time. Karisma Kapoor gives her career-best performance here.

Astitva

Cast: Tabu, Sachin Khedekar, and Mohnish Behl.

Director: Mahesh Manjrekar.

Mahesh Manjrekar was always ahead of the curve, and if there is one movie that proves it, it has to be Astitva. A movie about infidelity but never seen like a scandalous affair. A married woman receives an inheritance from her music teacher with whom she practiced a long time ago. This opens a bag of secrets, and the world turns upside down. Astitva was a take on male chauvinism, abusive marriage, and what is love.

Mann

Cast: Manisha Koirala, Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Anil Kapoor.

Director: Indra Kumar.

Many would argue Mann’s merit to be called the best, but it is inarguably an entertaining movie that has a heartwarming story and even deals with it quite interestingly. What stands out in Mann is the musical album. A one-of-a-kind lineup, the songs are some of the best Hindi cinema has ever offered.
