Shodha on OTT: Trailer launch of Pawan Kumar led Kannada series announced
Shodha on OTT: Written by Suhas Navarathna and directed by Sunil Mysooru, the suspense thriller show also stars Siri Ravikumar, Arun Sagar and Anusha Ranganath

On August 22, the second original Kannada web series commissioned by Z5 will drop on the platform. Following on the footsteps of the murder mystery Ayyana Mane, is the suspense thriller Shodha, starring Lucia and U-Turn maker Pawan Kumar in the lead, in what is his first-time headlining a series. Besides the genre, the makers have been tight-lipped about the show, but are set to shed some light on what to expect when the trailer drops on August 13 at 7 pm.

The 6-episode show has been written by Suhas Navarathna of Kyaabre fame, while Sunil Mysooru, the director of Orchestra, Mysuru! has directed it. Joining Pawan on the cast are Siri Ravikumar, Arun Sagar, as a cop, and Anusha Ranganath. Arun and Anusha mark their web series debuts with the show set in Madikeri. Shodha has music by Arjun Ramu and cinematography by Rahul Roy.
Shodha is part of Z5’s continuing efforts to attract viewers to the platform. Ayyana Mane not only clocked over 50 million streaming minutes, but is also said to have given the streamer a substantial jump in its subscription base. RJ Pradeepa, whose Sakkath Studio has been credited with shows like Loose Connection, Honeymoon, By Mistake and Hate U Romeo, is leading the platform’s original content creation. As the Head of Originals, Pradeepa is committed to putting together a good roster of Kannada shows, which will be revealed in due course of time.
Shodha is Pawan’s third web series, as also Siri’s. Pawan had a role in Honeymoon, as well as Kudi Yedamaithe, a Telugu show that he directed. Siri, on the other hand, has worked with both Pradeepa and Suhas, having been part of the former’s By Mistake and the latter’s Kyaabre. Honeymoon, By Mistake and Ayyana Mane are available to stream on OTTplay Premium, as is Love You Abhi, starring Vikram Ravichandran in the lead.
