The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated comedy Shrinking is returning for a third season. The show, created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel and Brett Goldstein, stars Segel as a grieving therapist, Jimmy Laird, whose unconventional working methods has him getting far too involved in his patients’ lives than he should and tells them what he really thinks than what is best for them. Desperately trying to keep him in line and follow professional ethics are his mentor and colleague Paul (Harrison Ford) and Gaby (Jessica Williams), with varying degrees of success.
Shrinking Season 3 is OTT bound
Shrinking premiered in January 2023, with a 10-episode first season run, which was followed by a 12-episode second season that kicked off only in October 2024. With the upcoming third season, the show is returning to the January timeline. Apple TV+, which is home to Shrinking, announced that Shrinking will be back with an 11-episode third season that will have a one-hour premiere on January 28, 2026, followed by weekly episode drops going all the way till April 8, 2026.

Besides the main cast comprising Segel, Ford, Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, Christa Miller and Ted McGinley, Goldstein also returns, along with Damon Wayans Jr., Wendie Malick and Cobie Smulders. New additions this season include Jeff Daniels as Jimmy’s dad, Sherry Cola, Isabella Gomez, Michael J Fox and Candice Bergen.
Season 3 will, no doubt, pick up from where Season 2 left off, with Jimmy finally making amends with Goldstein’s Louis, and saving the latter’s life, while Paul’s struggles with his progressing Parkinsons will also be central to the plot.
