We had earlier reported that director Vetrimaaran will be joining hands with actor Silambarasan for a film. The makers on Thursday dropped a short video teasing be potential update on the project.
Vetrimaaran-Silambarasan film update to come soon
Vetrimaaran, who has once again put his film Vaadivaasal with Suriya in the back burner, is teaming up with Silambarasan for his next. The director had already revealed this. In the latest, a glimpse of sorts was released on social media, teasing a potential update on the film.
The very short video only shows the back shot of a man walking as the names of director, actor and producer come up onscreen. A title video or an elaborate glimpse is expected to drop soon.
In an earlier statement, Vetrimaaran had confirmed that his upcoming film with Simbu will not be Vada Chennai 2. However, he also affirmed that the story will be set within the Vada Chennai world and that there will be some common characters in both the films. Vetrimaaran has also clarified that Dhanush had no objection to issue NOC given he is the producer of Vada Chennai.
Not much about the upcoming project has been revealed by the makers. However, it marks the first time Simbu is working with Vetrimaaran. The film is touted to be a gritty actioner, very much on the lines of Vetrimaaran’s other films.

Vetrimaaran’s Bad Girl releases this week
Meanwhile, Bad Girl is an upcoming Tamil film which has been produced by Vetrimaaran. The film will hit theatres on September 5. During one of the events of the film, Vetrimaaran openly declared that he will be shutting down his banner, given he is unable to float films anymore.
