Singapore Saloon, which is slated to be released on January 25, features Lal, R J Balaji, Sathyaraj in lead roles
R J Balaji-starrer Singapore Saloon is gearing up for its theatrical release on January 25. Now, the makers have unveiled the character posters from the film, helmed by director Gokul of Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame.
The character posters of Lal, Kishen Das and Sathyaraj have been released. Lal, who plays a pivotal role in the film, is going to essay the role of ‘Chacha’. He is seen donning a cap and black coat with his long white beard. His character is described as an ‘inspirational’ person for R J Balaji’s passion to pursue the hairdresser's profession.
Next the makers unveiled influencer and actor Kishan Das’ character poster, who will be seen essaying the role of Basheer. He is playing the role of the childhood friend of RJ Balaji’s character. Kishan Das, who has a huge Instagram following and never ceases to amaze the netizens, promises to capture the hearts of the viewers in this film.
The makers also unveiled the character poster of Sathyraj’s character who goes by the name Chakrapani. He is set to play the ‘frugal’ role of Meenakshi Chaudhary’s father. Meenakshi is playing the female lead in the comedy drama.
Apart from the lead cast, the R J Balaji-starrer will also feature Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj and actor Jiiva in cameo appearances. In a recent interview director Gokul revealed that Lokesh will be playing a celebrity in the film. “The reason we chose Lokesh is because he had launched many artists who became great stars”. The trailer also features actor’s Jiiva’s appearance, hinting that the other ‘popular cameo’ role will be donned by the Tamil actor.
The upcoming comedy drama also features Shivani Rajashekar, and Ann Sheetal in pivotal roles. Written and helmed by Gokul, the film's cinematography is handled by Sukumar and edited by Selva RK. The music for the film is scored by Vivek Mervin and is bankrolled by Ishari K Ganesh under Vels Film International.
