Singapore Saloon gets an OTT release partner; You can stream RJ Balaji's comedy drama soon - here's when!

Singapore Saloon, the recently released Tamil film starring actor-comedian-filmmaker RJ Balaji in the lead role, is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video soon. The makers of the film announced this on social media recently. However, a streaming date for the film is yet to be revealed. It is expected that the film will be available this week.

Directed by filmmaker Gokul, Singapore Saloon also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Lal, Kishen Das, and Sathyaraj, among others, in prominent roles. The film is backed by the Vels Film International production banner.

Singapore Saloon locks streaming partner

Singapore Saloon hit big screens worldwide on January 25, coinciding with Republic Day. It was released along with Ashok Selvan and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj's Blue Star. Met with mixed reviews, Singapore Saloon also stars Sathyaraj, Lal, Kishen Das, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ann Sheetal, Thalaivasal Vijay, John Vijay and Robo Shankar, with Lokesh Kanagaraj, Arvind Swamy and Jiiva appearing in cameo roles.

Now, with the film completing its mandatory four-week run in theatres, the makers of Singapore Saloon revealed that the film will be available on Prime Video soon. However, a streaming date is yet to be announced. It is expected that the film will be available this week.

“Singapore Saloon is witty and crispy, but all over the place at the same time. Of course, there is an undeniable effort, which gets diluted in the desire to tick all the boxes of emotional quotient in its pursuit to be a family entertainer,” reads OTTplay review of the film.

About Singapore Saloon

Directed by filmmaker Gokul, who has already helmed films like Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara and Kaashmora, the RJ Balaji-starrer is produced by Ishari Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner. It revolves around Kathir (RJ Balaji), who gets so inspired by the local barber (played by Lal) that he aspires to become a hair stylist and set up his own chain of salons called Singapore Saloon. The film follows the hurdles that come on his path to achieving his dreams.

The film's cinematography is handled by Sukumar and edited by Selva RK. The music for the film is scored by the Vivek Mervin duo.
