Sree Vishnu is one of the most bankable stars in Telugu cinema and often chooses unique films. His last film, Swag, had a crazy backdrop, and Sree Vishnu appeared in multiple roles. Unfortunately, it flopped at the box office. He is now ready with his new film Single, which hits the screens on May 9, 2025, in a big way.
The trailer caught the imagination of many but also sparked controversy. The Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu star took a dig at Balakrishna and also at Manchu Vishnu's upcoming film Kannappa, which amused some but angered others. While Sree Vishnu’s imitation of Balakrishna was taken in good spirits by fans, his comical delivery of the “Shivayyaa” dialogue from Kannappa offended Vishnu Manchu.
Reports suggest that the Astram star, Vishnu Manchu, known for his aggressive nature and being the son of legendary actor Mohan Babu, called the makers of Single and reprimanded them for mocking his film. Fearing further escalation, Sree Vishnu quickly apologized to Manchu Vishnu and settled the issue by releasing a special video, which has since gone viral.
Single has been produced by the legendary Allu Aravind, father of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo star Allu Arjun. The comedy caper stars Ivana of Love Today and Ketika Sharma of Robinhood fame as the female leads. Ivana makes her Telugu debut with this film and claims that Single is a laugh riot that audiences will thoroughly enjoy.
Directed by Karthik, the film also features Vennela Kishore in a key role. The controversy has generated solid hype, and reports suggest the controversial dialogues have been edited out of the final cut. With HIT 3 continuing its strong box office run, it remains to be seen how Single will withstand Nani’s onslaught in the coming days.
