Sirai: Vikram Prabhu's next film is based on a real incident involving a cop & suspect

The makers of the upcoming Tamil film, Sirai, have dropped its first poster today (August 9). It provides a peek into the main characters and the genre of the film, which is built around an intriguing and intense story.

The poster was unveiled by Lokesh Kanagaraj through social media platforms on August 9. Vikram Prabhu and L K Akshay Kumar are the main actors in Sirai. It shows Vikram as a cop and Akshay as a suspect in rugged avatar. The plot, which is based on actual events, is penned by Tamizh, who is known for directing the highly regarded movie, Taanakaran. This story, which centres on a police officer and a detained suspect, is thought to have been inspired by Tamizh's personal experiences. The title Sirai, which means prison in Tamil, is expected to release in theatres soon.

Sirai cast and crew details

S S Lalit Kumar produced the movie under the Seven Screen Studios label. This film was written and directed by renowned filmmaker Vetrimaran's co-director, Suresh Rajakumari. Vikram Prabhu, who recently appeared in Love Marriage, is also playing the lead in Ghaati. The film also marks the acting debut of producer SS Lalit Kumar's son, L K Akshay Kumar. In the movie, Maranamass-fame Anishma portrays Akshay Kumar's companion. Malayalam film, Maranamass, is streaming in multiple languages on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium.

Renowned music director Justin Prabhakaran composed the background score and soundtracks for the movie. Madesh Manickam is responsible for the film's cinematography. Philomin Raj, one of the renowned editors in the Tamil industry, edited the movie. Prabhu coordinated the stunts. Manikandan and Arun K are executive producers of the movie. The movie's filming is currently complete, having taken place in different places in Chennai, Sivagangai, and Vellore. The movie is currently in its last post-production stage. The rest of the cast and the estimated release date will be revealed in the next few days.
