Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par has finally entered Rs. 100 crore club after its second Saturday. The movie minted over Rs. 100 crore on day 9 of its theatrical release, which is sure to take you back in time. Another Khan aka Salman Khan and his movie Sikandar had gone through the similar fate at the Box Office. It took his movie longer than a week to earn Rs. 100 crore and thus, the film did not cross the numbers as expected i.e. it did not near Rs. 200 crore club at the Box Office as predicted. Sitaare Zameen Par, despite the hype, seems to suffer the same fate.

Sitaare Zameen Par is estimated to have minted Rs. 108.30 crore at the Box Office on day 9, according to a report on Sacnilk. The movie earned Rs. 12.75 crore on its second Saturday, which was 100% rise from Rs. 6.65 crore on second Friday. Despite that, there might be little hope left for the movie.

It appears that theatre-goers are no longer pulled towards a movie featuring the Khans of Bollywood unless there's equally good and original content attached with them. Salman Khan's Sikandar, which was mostly welcomed with bad reviews, saw how it took over a week to enter Rs. 100 crore club. The film struggled since. Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, adapted from the Hollywood film Champions (originally inspired from the Spanish film Campeones) follows a similar pattern. The movie taking over a week to enter Rs. 100 crore club is proof of the same. In comparison, Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava or even Ajay Devgn's Raid 2, both inspired from real-life stories, worked at the Box Office early on and became superhits.

Is there hope for Sitaare Zameen Par to enter Rs. 200 crore club?

For a movie that takes two weeks to enter Rs. 100 crore club, there's little hope for it to mint over Rs. 200 crore. The film is likely to slow down following this week, and will face further competition from Sonakshi Sinha-Paresh Rawal's Nikita Roy next week. Thus, even if Aamir Khan's Bollywood comeback Sitaare Zameen Par, made on a budget of Rs. 90 crore, is currently earning profits, the number might not go as high as Rs. 200 crore club.
