Sivakarthikeyan was the chief guest at the audio event of Gautham Karthik-starrer 1947 August 16 which was held the other day. Filmmaker AR Murugadoss, one of the producers of the period drama, also turned heads at the affair. The Prince star opened up about a few topics which evoked curiousity among fans.

He briefed on his journey over a decade and expressed high hopes on his forthcoming project which has him joining hands with Rajkumar Periyasamy, an erstwhile assistant to Murugadoss. He said that the Thuppakki director can be proud of him when the untitled film releases.

On his next outing Maaveeran which has him teaming up with National Award winning filmmaker Madonne Ashwin, Siva said that he has wrapped up his portions for the action drama and the entire shooting would be completed in a few days. The movie is expected to hit the screens in June.

The makers had unveiled the first single a few weeks ago. An update on its release date is likely to happen after the team releases its promo videos. A video which was released to announce the project a few months ago left cinephiles astonished, thanks to the similarities the star's body language shared with that of Rajinikanth's.

When he was asked about the same at the event, Siva, a self-proclaimed fan of the Superstar, replied that he has always loved imitating the Petta star over the years at private events while attempting mimicry. According to him, he is really influenced by Rajini and hence, the similarity is unavoidable.

There have been reports of a rift between Siva and Madonne during the shooting of Maaveeran in recent times. When quizzed on it, he refuted it as baseless news and added that he is clueless about the source of such speculation. Further, he revealed that his delayed sci-fi flick Ayalaan will hit the screens towards the end of this year.
