Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Don gets a new release date; here's when the movie will hit the screens

A while ago, Cibi Chakaravarthi's Don, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, was speculated to release in February. However, the third wave of the pandemic spoiled the team's plan. Later, they announced officially that the campus drama will hit the screens on March 25.

But the makers of Rajamouli's RRR, too, decided to release the big budget project on the same day. With no options left, team Don had to change their plans again. According to a source, it is now confirmed that the movie will hit the screens on May 12. An official update on the same will be made soon.

Priyanka Mohan will play the female lead in the movie which has Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Balasaravanan, Soori, Sivaangi, Mirchi Vijay, Munishkanth and Kaali Venkat among others essaying key roles. Gautham Menon and Bigg Boss Tamil 5 winner Raju Jeyamohan will be seen playing cameos in the film. 

Anirudh has composed music for the film; two songs from the project have been unveiled by the composer. KM Bhaskaran has cranked the camera for Don which has editing handled by Nagooran. Sivakarthikeyan Productions and Lyca Productions have jointly produced the film which will be released by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies. 

Netflix is said to have bagged the digital rights of the movie. Sivakarthikeyan's last outing, Doctor, too, was acquired by Netflix. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial had an OTT premiere before a month of its theatrical release.

Sivakarthikeyan, who is currently busy with Anudeep's bilingual flick, has Ayalaan and Rajkumar Periyasamy's upcoming projects in his kitty. Meanwhile, the star's first production venture, Kanaa, is getting ready for a theatrical release in China on March 18.
