Maaveeran, the next outing of Sivakarthikeyan, is hitting the screens on July 14. Its Tollywood version, Mahaveerudu, too, is releasing on the same day. The actor was in Hyderabad today to promote the Telugu version of the movie. He took up the Green India Challenge and planted a sapling in the popular KBR park.

He also spoke about contributing to nature and urged others to participate in it. Interestingly, the star nominated his friend and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. The film's director Madonne Ashwin was also spotted along with him, and a few pics have started doing the rounds online.

The actor is supposed to visit Bengaluru and Kochi, too, in the coming days to promote Maaveeran which has been bankrolled by Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies banner. He will also be participating in the pre-release event that will be held in Chennai on Monday.

The movie is crucial for him as his last outing, Prince, wasn't a successful fare at the box office. Aditi Shankar plays the female lead in the film which has Mysskin, Saritha and Yogi Babu among others essaying key roles.

Bharath Sankar has composed the music, and three songs from the project are already out. Billed as an action drama with an ample dose of humour and suspense, its story revolves around a cartoonist from a humble background who locks horns with a cunning politician.

How the former smartly handles the manipulative behaviour of the latter forms the rest of the story. The biggest attraction of the project is the voiceover which has been lent by a popular actor. The team is yet to reveal the star behind the voice.
