SJ Suryah-starrer Kadamaiyai Sei joins the flurry of theatrical releases in Tamil on June 24

After a short hiatus, it looks like many Tamil films are likely to have a clash at the box office on the same day. Till yesterday, Kallapart, Vezham, Titanic, Maayon, Maamanithan and Iravin Nizhal were supposed to be the Kollywood movies that are slated to hit screens on June 24. Now, SJ Suryah's Kadamaiyai Sei has joined the race. 

Director Venkatt Ragavan has announced the news from his Twitter page. The film's trailer was released recently, which was lapped up by movie buffs because of Suryah's presence in it. The actor-filmmaker's recent releases Maanaadu (streaming on SonyLIV) and Don went on to become super hits and his performances have been appreciated by critics and the audience alike.

Selvaraghavan's Nenjam Marappathillai (streaming on Zee5) which released in 2021 was Suryah's last outing as the protagonist. Bommai, Iravaakaalam and Uyarndha Manithan are some of the upcoming projects that feature him in lead roles.

TR Ramesh and S Zahir Hussain have bankrolled Kadamaiyai Sei which has Yashika Anand playing the female lead. Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Vincent Ashokan and Charles Vinodh among others essay pivotal characters in the project which has music by Arun Raj and action choreography by Pradeep Dinesh. Vinoth Rathinasamy and Srikanth NB have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the film.

Though seven films are set for a theatrical release on June 24, it is yet to be seen how many of them will make it to the screens finally. Except for Iravin Nizhal, all the other releases have been lying in the cans for a while.

Some of them had postponed releases multiple times owing to various reasons. Among all, it is Parthiban's Iravin Nizhal which is riding on good expectations, thanks to its unique story and veteran technicians in it.
