Skanda underwent multiple changes in its release plans in the recent weeks. While it was to arrive initially on October 20, coinciding with Dussehra, it was advanced to September 15 to make the most of the Vinayaka Chaturthi weekend. With Salaar’s postponement, the release date was pushed to September 28, creating a lot of confusion and anxiety among other teams in the industry.
While S Thaman’s music is doing its bit to further its prospects at the box office, the team is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a hassle-free release in all areas. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, Skanda brings together Ram Pothineni, Sreeleela and Saiee Manjrekar in the lead roles. Srinivasaa Chitturi is bankrolling the film under Srinivasaa Silver Screen in collaboration with ZEE Studios.

Meanwhile, the film’s overseas distributors Varnikha Visuals (in association with Charisma Dreams Entertainment) have confirmed that Skanda will be Ram Pothineni’s biggest ever release in the US. It will release in over 350 screens in various states across USA while all arrangements are being made for the premieres in North America on September 27.
The list of theatres, booking details and other updates about the US release will shared by the distributors in the coming days. The trailer promises a typical Boyapati film with a dose of high-voltage, larger-than-life action sequences, buckets of blood, family drama, foot-tapping music. It is definitely expected to be a minimum guarantee fare at the theatres and please the masses.
Ram Pothineni, who was last seen in Red and The Warriorr, would be hoping to make a mark with a wider audience base with Skanda, his first pan-Indian film (will also release in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam). Santosh Detake cranks the camera for the film; Tammiraju is the editor. Prince Cecil, Sharath Lohithaswa, Srikanth, Gauthami and Daggubati Raja too play key roles.
