Skanda: The expected OTT release date of the Ram Pothineni starrer is here

Skanda was one of the most awaited films as Ram Pothineni teamed up with mass director Boyapati Sreenu for the first time in his career. The film was made on a huge budget and released on September 28, 2023, on a grand note. 

The film opened on a strong note on day one but fell flat at the box office later. The mass belts saw some collections but the A centers did not see crowds. Sreeleela played the female lead in this film which was produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi.

Well, we at OTTplay have already reported that the OTT rights of the film have been bagged by Hotstar for a fancy price. Now, we have come to know about the expected release date of the film on Hotstar. As per the update, Skanda is expected to have its digital release date on October 27, 2023. Though an official confirmation is yet to be made, this news has become a topic of discussion in the film circles.

Hotstar paid a whopping price to bag the rights to the film. It is the highest-ever price in the career of Ram Pothineni. Thaman has scored the music for Skanda and the songs have been decent hits. But the routine presentation and over-the-top action did not go well with the regular audience and the film tanked at the box office. 

The satellite rights of Skanda have been bagged by Star Maa and the TV premiere of Skanda will happen in the first week of November as per the news. Ram Pothineni worked hard on the film and even put on 11 kgs to look his part. 

His sincere performance has been appreciated by the audience but the film in general has been a disappointment for the fans and general audience. He is now working for Ismart Shankar 2 in the direction of Puri Jagan.
