In a talk with Avinash Lohana of Pinkvilla, the Rowdy Rathore actress revealed that she loved working in a patriotic movie that was based on real life incidents and commented that the role of Sunderben is like “it was written for” her. She also revealed that prior to Bhuj, two directors had approached her to play the role of Sunderben and one of them was a biopic with the actress in lead. But she was either busy or committed to other projects both times, and when the role came calling for her a third time in the form of Bhuj, she jumped in for the opportunity to play this “underrated legend” in Indian history.

The actress also said that she wishes to do more real life characters, like Mughal or Maratha queens in history with “Bhansali type” setting.Sonakshi Sinha kept herself busy during the pandemic days too. She sold her first painting and bought her first house and took time to chill with family and more.

The actress has recently completed the shoot of Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi directorial web series that will premiere on Amazon Prime. The team started shooting in March after a long gap because of the COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns. The series will also mark the digital debut of Sonakshi. She responded positively to the rumours about her being roped in for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next big project Heeramandi, although she said that the makers are yet to announce it officially.
