Sonakshi Sinha's Nikita Roy averts clash with Kajol's Maa; gets new release date

The supernatural thriller Nikita Roy, starring Sonakshi Sinha, has postponed its release just a day before it hit the screens. The film's original release date was June 27, 2025, but it will now hit the big screen now on July 18, 2025.

Reason behind Nikita Roy's postponement

As per the makers, the film will now have better access to screens and visibility, and the release schedule will be less crowded as a result. The producers clarified the decision in an official statement:

"Hi, guys! We have found ourselves in the midst of multiple releases and a battle for screens. With advice from our well-wishers in the fraternity, distributors, and exhibitors, we have collectively decided to push our release to the 18th of July so that we can reach a wider audience. Thank you for the immense love you have shown for the film so far but you’ll have to wait a little longer, and we promise you, 18th July will be worth the wait! See you in theatres!"

Starring alongside Sonakshi Sinha, who is playing the titular role, are Paresh Rawal, Arjun Rampal, and Suhail Nayyar; the film is directed by Kussh Sinha. Elements designed to keep audiences engrossed throughout the story's duration give the impression of a suspenseful encounter.

In the film, writing and investigating with an analytical mind, Nikita Roy exposes frauds and dismantles false ideas by using logic and science. She takes immense pleasure in exposing the truth and is famous for disproving supernatural claims. However, her convictions start to waver when she comes across a case that contradicts all logic.

Working with Nikita Pai Films Ltd., the film's producers, Nicky Vicky Bhagnani and Viicky Bhagnani, have backed the film along with Bliss Entertainment, Movies PTE Limited, Karmic Films, and Baweja Studios.

Nikita Roy was penned by the renowned thriller writer Pavan Kirpalani. The film is backed by Anand Mehta, Prakash Nand Bijlani, Shakti Bhatnagar, Mehnaaz Shaikh, Chintan Dave, and Prem Raj Joshi, and it is produced by Ankur Takrani, Dinesh Ratiram Gupta, Kinjal Ashok Ghone, and Kratos Entertainment.
