Debutant M Kumaran's thriller series, Iru Dhuruvam which was released on SonyLIV in 2019, is gearing up for a sequel. Though makers had announced their plans to come up with a second installment a few months ago, the digital platform has now made it official by unveiling a short video.
Titled Iru Dhuruvam 2, the team has retained most of its cast and crew from part one. An update on its release date will be announced soon. Sameer Nair and Pramod Cheruvalath are producing the series under the banner of Applause Entertainment in association with A Sign Of Life Productions.
Nandhaa, who played a cop in the first installment, will be seen essaying the lead this time, too. Entertaining screenplay and an intriguing climax twist were highlights of Iru Dhuruvam; movie buffs are eager to know what the makers have in store for them this time.
Abhirami Venkatachalam, who was seen in a crucial character in the first part, will be seen playing a notable role this time, too. Prasanna's inclusion in the cast is likely to be one of the highlights of the second part.
Karthik Ram and Ashwath Shivkumar had handled editing for the series which had cinematography by Raja K Bakthavatchalam. Surya Prasadh had composed music for Iru Dhuruvam which had nine episodes. Abdool, Jeeva Ravi and Sebastian Antony were others who were seen in key characters in the first part.
Nandhaa, who was last seen in Paramapadham Vilayattu in 2021, made his debut as a producer with Vishal-starrer Laththi (streaming on Sun NXT) a couple of months ago. He produced the movie along with Ramana under Rana Productions.
