A new set of titles and OTT projects were revealed by SonyLIV in its upcoming slate, which includes exciting names and cast and crew. A total of five projects were confirmed, and OTTplay Premium subscribers will be able to enjoy the titles very soon. From Nazriya Nazim’s The Madras Mystery – Fall of a Superstar, to a Sathyaraj-starrer murder mystery, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming projects.
SonyLIV upcoming Tamil content slate includes…
A total of five new projects has been announced by SonyLIV, and that means OTTplay Premium users will be able to soon access more dramas and content from Tamil cinema.
Up first, The Madras Mystery – Fall of a Superstar, is an upcoming series which will have director Vijay as showrunner. Th It will be directed by Sooriyaprathap, and stars actors Nazriya Nazim, Natty, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Nasser, YG Mahendran. It is to be noted that Nazriya is back to Tamil after a really long time and will be making her Tamil OTT debut with The Madras Mystery. Set against the backdrop of 1940s, the scandal-driven period thriller is set to be revolving around the infamous murder of Lakshmikanthan and the trial which involved M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar and N. S. Krishnan as suspects.
Next is Sethurajan IPS, another fiction, which is directed by Rafiq Ismail, who previously helmed Rathasaatchi starring Kanna Ravi. It will mark actor-choreographer- director Prabhudeva’s OTT debut. He will be playing a cop who has to tackle a politically sensitive murder case.
What are the other projects?
Another crime thriller titled Kuttram Purindhavan – The Guilty One, will have director Selvamani at the helm. Featuring Pasupathy, Vidaarth, Lakshmipriyaa Chandramouli, the crime thriller is expected to be a gritty and nail-biting watch.
While we had earlier reported that Aishwarya Lekshmi will be doing a web series for SonyLIV, it has now gotten a name. Called Theevinai Pottru, it will be a rural murder mystery. It is directed by Sathish Raja Dharmar, with the cast also including Sathyaraj, Kalaiyarasan, Bhagyaraj, Vidaarth, Sshivada, Sruthi Hariharan, and others.
Taking a departure from the crime thrillers so far, the last project announced is Free Love. It is described to be a bold exploration of love and choices. Starring Mirnalini Ravi, Teejay Arunasalam, Roshan Rahoof, and others, it is directed by Abbas Ahmed.
Release dates for these projects are yet to be announced by SonyLIV.
