Bada Naam Karenge is an upcoming romantic series on SonyLIV. Directed by Palash Vaswani, the showrunner of the series is Sooraj Barjatya. Produced under the banner of Rajshree Productions, starring Ritik Ghanshani and Ayesha Kaduskar in the lead roles, the series explores a Pandemic love story going through ups and downs due to family issues. Ahead of the release, Sooraj opened up about the series' family-oriented theme.
Sooraj Barjatya is known for his cult classics like Vivah, Hum Apke Hain Koun...!, and Hum Saath Saath Hai. In an interview with NDTV, Sooraj opened up about Bada Naam Karenge's family-oriented storyline and shared what makes him understand the pulse of the audience even in this generation.
He said, "I just see what is actually around me. I see my children's friends and I realize that what we portray in cinema or in the media, especially what we show is always sensationalized. Always know it is never the ultimate truth. I feel youngsters are yet to be rooted and feel grounded."
He further added that when it comes to the culture we have between parents and their children in India, compared to the West, as shown in the series Bada Naam Karenge, there lies certain complexities. As per him, in India, children don't want to upset their parents and they have to do certain things to survive or fit in.
Sooraj added, "Sony LIV wanted a family show that is told from the youngsters' perspective and something from the Vivah and Hum Saath Saath Hai world. So when it comes to understanding what is it about these family stories that connect with the audience, my observation is helping me, and then it is my conviction."
He also added that the series will stand out because of its innocence. Sooraj said, "The best thing that sets this show apart is that it is a pure love story. I wanted to make something that the whole family could sit and watch."
Bada Naam Karenge explores family values and Gen Z aspirations. Rishabh and Surbhi follow their passions while nurturing their family's comforting traditions. As per the trailer, the intricate weave of love, heritage, and identity will highlight feelings of joy, sadness, and introspection.
The cast also features Kanwaljit Singh, Alka Amin, Jameel Khan, Rajesh Tailang, Anjana Sukhani, Sadhika Sayal, Gyanendra Tripathi, Priyamvada Kant, Omm Dubey, Bhavesh Babani, and more.
