Soorarai Pottru: THIS leading actress is all praise for Suriya, Jyotika for making the National Award-winning film

Fans of Suriya were elated when the actor received the National Award for Best Actor category for his performance in Soorarai Pottru the other day. He was accompanied by his wife and actress Jyotika to the event. The latter received the award for Best Feature Film for the same movie. 

The critically acclaimed project was bankrolled by Suriya and Jyotika under 2D Entertainment. The film which was released in 2020 went on to bag five honours at the 68th National Awards, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Feature Film, Best Background Score and Best Screenplay. 

Director Sudha Kongara, actress Aparna Balamurali and musician GV Prakash were also present at the event and received the honour from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. Many movie lovers and a few celebs, including AR Rahman and Suresh Raina, had showered praise on Suriya and the team for the prestigious award.

Kajal Aggarwal is now the latest to join the bandwagon. She took to her social media page, congratulated the couple and added that it is a well deserved recognition for them. The actress also posted pictures of them receiving awards.

Suriya and Kajal had acted together in KV Anand's Maattrraan which was released in 2012. The actress' appreciation has made mutual fans of hers and Suriya elated. On the film front, she recently joined Shankar's much-awaited Indian 2 which is expected to release in 2023.

The actress, who took a short hiatus from acting post her pregnancy, recently took to Instagram to post a video of her getting trained in horse riding for her character in the film. Deekay's Karungaapiyam is another Tamil project of hers which is awaiting release.
