Soubin Shahir meets John Abraham, fans ask for updates of his Dulquer Salmaan film

Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir’s recent photo with Bollywood stars John Abraham has already got fans talking about an upcoming collaboration between the two actors. Soubin had shared a photo of him along with the Pathaan star and fans took to the comment section, asking him for updates.

Before you assume that it’s about an upcoming movie with the two actors, let’s clarify that it wasn’t. The fans were more keen to know the update of Soubin Shahir’s speculated directorial with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. In fact, Dulquer liking the post, only fueled them to query further about the film’s status.

Soubin Shahir and John Abraham to team up?

Though OTTplay tried reaching out to Soubin to know more about his meeting with John and if it is for a possible project together, the actor didn’t respond. It’s not clear if it was a casual meeting while John was in Kochi or while Soubin was in Mumbai, and also the timeline when the photo was taken.

It would indeed be a cause to celebrate if the two would be working together in a Malayalam film. Last year, John had forayed as a producer in the Malayalam film industry with Anaswara Rajan’s Mike. He also talked about whether he would be interested in doing a Malayalam movie, considering that his father is a Malayali.

Last year, during an event in Kochi, John had said that he is a huge fan of Malayalam actors such as Biju Menon, Joju George and Suraj Venjaramoodu. However, he said that he doesn’t believe is capable to doing a full-fledged role in Malayalam as I would entail him to learn the language.

However, he said that he would love to “be a part of some Malayalam movie in a small, beautiful way where I could add some value”.

Soubin Shahir’s next directorial to have Dulquer and Kunchacko Boban?

Soubin, himself, is currently producing Manjummel Boys, which is directed by Chidambaram and is also co-starring in Tovino Thomas’ Nadikar Thilakam. The actor is also reportedly set to work on his second directorial, which is rumoured to have Dulquer in the lead along with Kunchacko Boban . The team, however, is yet to make an official announcement on this.
