It has been reported that filmmaker Srijit Mukherji was down with a fever. On Saturday, the director took to his social media to inform that he tested Dengue positive.

Srijit jokingly borrowed a couplet, by his friend Srijato, from his debut film, Autograph, and remodelled it to make the announcement. He identified the menace of stagnant water that becomes the breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Aparna Sen, Srijato, actress Bidita Bag, Indraadip Dasgupta, and several others expressed concern over Srijit’s well-being. While replying to Aparna Sen’s concern, the director said that he might consider getting admitted to a hospital, based on his platelets count on Saturday.
Recently, Srijit completed the major part of shooting his Puja release Dawsham Awbotaar. It was a wrap for Prosenjit Chatterjee and others. However, there was a brief outdoor shooting scheduled for Anirban Bhattacharya and Jaya Ahsan, and the team was supposed to go to North Bengal. However, it is due to the director’s illness, this plan has not been realised. Nonetheless, once he is well, the director intends to complete the outdoor shooting for the film.
Earlier, when contacted by OTTplay, Srijit had said that he was suffering from a fever for the past many days. According to the director, the necessary blood tests were conducted already.
