Srijit Mukherji’s Padatik and Shiboprosad Mukherjee- Nandita Roy’s Amar Boss set to clash at the box office?

Srijit Mukherji’s ambitious tribute to Mrinal Sen with his film Padatik is expected to be released this summer. It goes without saying that the audience is waiting in anticipation. The film was already screened and selected in different film festivals.

TollyBangla Box Office reports say that the film will be released this summer. In all probability, it will come in May. However, Amar Boss, directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, is also expected to be dropped during the same time. In that case. Padatik and Amar Boss might come at the same time or one after the other.

Chanchal Chowdhury plays Mrinal Sen, while Monami Ghosh plays Mrinal's wife Geeta Sen in Padatik. On the other hand, Jeetu Kamal plays Satyajit Ray in Padatik. Indraadip Dasgupta composed the music film and Somnath Kundu did the makeup.

Srijit previously said in an interview that he originally wished to bring the biopic as a series. “It might be asked whether I am satisfied with what I kept in the biopic. In a feature film, it is impossible to completely portray all sides of a personality like Mrinalda. I think we could do justice to the subject had we made a web series.”

Meanwhile, there are a lot of conversations going around Amar Boss as well. Rakhee Gulzar made a comeback to Bengali films after a long time. Srabanti Chatterjee, Shruti Das, Sauraseni Maitra, Gourab Chatterjee, and Aishwarya Sen are in other key roles. Shiboprosad Mukherjee will also play a role in the film.
