The film collected 142 crore at the box office. Since then, there haven't been any hits at the ticket window. Although Srikanth is not facing any competition from other Hindi releases, it might get affected by the Hollywood film Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes, which also hit the theatres on May 10. The film has a different set of audiences, however, it still managed to earn 2.50 crore in India.
Earlier, in an interview with First Post, Rajkummar Rao spoke about playing Srikanth. He told First Post that he could relate to Srikanth's background as he comes from a very humble background too. "And in my life also there were a lot of hardships when it came to money and having a big dream in life and to actually achieve that dream was something I could relate to."
