Star - A new character poster from Kavin's film to be out tomorrow

Actor Kavin’s upcoming family drama, Star, is one of the most ambitious projects in the rising star’s career. Directed by Elan, the makers have now announced that they will release the character poster of a new actor. 

The makers took to their social media pages to share a new poster that read, “Introducing Meera Malarkodi’. The character is being played by debutante Preity Mukhundhan. The poster also had a tagline that translates to, “But she dislikes being called just Malarkodi.” The intriguing poster features a diary that contains former cricketer Sourav Ganguly’s cut-out images, hinting that the character is an ardent fan of the former Indian captain. The announcement poster also features a Hello Kitty keychain along with a CD case of the 1964 Shivaji Ganesan film Karnan. 

Preity took to her social media pages to share the poster and wrote, “My first as Meera , for #StarMovie. Stay tuned until tomorrow 6PM” (sic).

Interestingly, Kavin will have two female leads—Aaaditi S Pohankar and Preity Mukhundhan—in this family drama.

Harish Kalyan’s shoot images from Star surface

As reported earlier, director Elan had first roped in Parking actor Harish Kalyan as the leading man for Star. The team had also shared a few pictures from the pre-production shoot. However, Harish backed out from the project, which resulted in Kavin being roped in. Now, Harish Kalyan’s old pictures that he shot for Star have been circulating on social media. The pictures show Harish Kalyan in vintage looks, imitating poses from Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s 90s films.

After Dada, Kavin is all set to be seen in a romantic role in Star. He plays a movie star, and the film shows audiences the untold story of stardom, showing the struggles of actors. The promo for the film hints that it is a heartwarming story that is narrated in ‘Kavin style’. The actor, who impressed audiences with the emotional drama Dada, has upped audiences' expectations with this film. Apart from Kavin and his leading ladies, the film also stars Malayalam actor Lal, who plays Kavin's character's father in Star.
