Star, directed by Elan and starring Kavin, has now introduced Aaditi S Pohankar’s character through a promo video

Aaditi S Pohankar, who has appeared in Tamil film Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum, rose to fame through Netflix series She. The actress will be starring next opposite Dada actor Kavin in Elan directorial Star. The actress has now shared a character promo video from the film and has introduced her character namely Jimikky. The actress took to her social media handles to share the promo and captioned the post, “Kalai's JIMIKKY @aaditiofficial Guess why am I called JIMIKKY..What's your loved one's nickname?”(sic).
The promo features the actress posing at a beach as she tucks her hair behind her ears, revealing Jimikki earrings. We are guessing that the actress is named after her love for jhumkas. Nonetheless, the actress promises to play the love interest of Kavin’s character in the upcoming film.
About Kavin’s intriguing ‘Star’
Kavin, whose last film Dada soared high, will be seen next in the light-hearted family drama Star. Director Elan, known for Pyaar Prema Kaadhal, had earlier unveiled a photo album promo that featured glimpses into the protagonist's life, featuring his parents, romantic relationships and the words spoken to him at different phases of his life.
The film is touted as a drama that follows the journey of a movie star’s struggles and the untold side of stardom. Elan has earlier mentioned that Star will have a ‘mix of a college story, romance and family drama’.
Cast and crew of Star
Apart from the lead characters, Star also has Lal, Preity Mukhundhan, and Geetha Kailasam. The music for the film is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while Ezhil Arasu K is the cinematographer. Vinoth Raj Kumar N is the art director and Pradeep E Ragav handles the editing.
Kavin was not the first choice for Star
Interestingly, Elan had announced Star with his PPK actor, Harish Kalyan. The makers had also shared several posters featuring the actor of Parking fame. But as the project failed to progress, Harish Kalyan was forced to back out from the film. Ultimately, Elan reworked the script and brought Kavin on board as the lead actor of Star.
