Star on OTT: Stream Kavin and Elan’s film right now here

Star, the recently released Tamil film starring actor Kavin in the lead role, has finally made its OTT debut. The film is available for streaming on Prime Video in Tamil with English subtitles. Star is directed by filmmaker Elan who previously made his debut with romantic drama Pyaar Prema Kadhal.

Star marks Elan’s second directorial venture of Elan and features Kavin in the lead role. The film is coming-of-age story about a boy named Kalai who aspires to be an actor since his childhood. Star traverses through the different stages of his life, the struggles he faces and finally if he indeed becomes an actor or not.

Apart from Kavin, the film also stars actors Preity Mukundan, Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, Geetha Kailasam and others in prominent roles. Director Vetrimaaran makes a special appearance as himself in Star.

Celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored music for the Kavin-starrer. He has also composed for Elan’s debut film. While Ezhil Arasu K is the cinematographer, Vinoth Raj Kumar N is the art director and Pradeep E Ragav handled the editing.

The film released in theatres on May 10 and opened to mixed to positive response, with Kavin’s performance gaining special mentions. “Star is a film that works magic in parts. There is a brutal honesty through which the film is said, but misses something magical that makes you want to root the protagonist in his pursuit of being an actor,” reads OTTplay review of the film.

It is to be noted that Star was first launched with actor Harish Kalyan. The makers had also released a few posters featuring the actor in the looks of iconic film characters. However, due to reasons unknown, Harish Kalyan was replaced by Kavin.

Meanwhile, Kavin has various films in his line-up. He has got Bloody Beggar backed by Nelson Dilipkumar, an untitled film with director-choreographer Satish, and Mask co-starring Andrea Jeremiah.
