The craving for Star Wars content never ends and is immense for fans who have grown up with the films and are now enjoying the couple of spin-off shows that are streaming on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar in India. But there is no way there will ever be a point where any fan would say there is enough content from the franchise at the moment. So even Lucas Films knows that, and they are finally venturing into branches of this world and bringing out more shows and probably films to entertain the audience and keep them hooked. Now we hear that the studio is planning a Marvel’s What If...? equivalent show that will cover the infinite possibilities.
For the uninitiated, What If...? is a Marvel show streaming on Disney+ and has witnessed two successful seasons with the second one releasing last month. The show explores possibilities in the infinite world where anything is possible, and nothing is far-fetched. Characters are twisted, their motives are changed, responsibilities are shuffled, morals are exchanged, and it all adds up to an interesting watch. So when the makers of Star Wars now aim to make a What If...? like show, you get why we are excited.
Now, as the idea has already made news and probably the execs at Lucas Films have already chalked out a graph for their What’s If...? equivalent, we pen down five possibilities that would make a banger of episodes on TV. Read on and imagine WHAT IF?
What If Master Yoda Didn’t Train Luke?
Every loyal fan of Star Wars thanks that very moment Master Yoda chose to train Luke Skywalker. It was one of the most iconic situations in the history of Star Wars, and we all rejoiced in it and what followed. Imagine what would have happened if Master Yoda had refused to train Luke. The training would have been insufficient for him to have the strength to fight the danger.
What If Anakin Died On Mustafar?
Star Wars: The Clone Wars revealed one thing: that Anakin was destined to be the key to everything. Palpatine’s plan for his empire was more about Anakin than everything. But what if Obi-Wan would have killed Anakin on Mustafar? One cannot deny the possibility because there were enough chances for this to happen for real, but that could have destroyed Palpatin’s plan.
What If Kylo Ren Turned Out To Be Big Bad?
The Big Bad and the mystery around the label is what makes Star Wars one of the most mysterious franchises. Everything that happened around Kylo Ren makes one think of this possibility where Kylo comes back as the big bad and takes revenge. This could have led to a battle between Kylo and Rey leading to a very interesting trajectory.
What If Luke Chose The Dark Side?
While not as strong as Anakin, Luke had all the reasons to turn to the dark side where he could have achieved strong superpowers and even met his father. If at any point Luke had chosen the dark side, the world of Star Wars would have turned upside down.
What If Ben Solo Came Back?
Okay, we know this is an emotional point but while we await a live-action comeback, an animated one is also a big win, we guess. If Ben made a return at this point, he would join forces with Rey and form an alliance that would be unbeatable.
